A soul spirit is a being that was born along with a human baby, becoming the human's companion for their whole life. They are connected in a sense that one can not live without the other. If the soul spirit is killed, the human die's as well and the opposite.
However, if a soul spirit is deceased by the human dying, it is reborn with an other human baby in the world and the cycle continues. Soul spirits can live up to thousands of years as long as they, themselves are not killed. If they are, they will not be reborn, they will simply stay dead.
Soul spirits come in many sizes and shapes, they can be small and slim, tall, massive, short, they can be demons, angels, golems, mermaids, vampires, elves, witches, etc. They can also be animals, even dragons, although dragons are the rarest kind. Each of these mystical beings have a diet of their own. Some can only eat sweets, others blood, some only fruits and vegetables, others only meat. To protect their identity, they remain in the shape of a small floating flame above the human's shoulder, unless they decide to morph to their true form. The colour of the flame depends on the soul spirit.

Dorothy looks like quite the rebel but unlike her soul spirit, she's a sweet and caring girl. She'd be ready to jump into danger to save those she loves. In spite of all this, she can be short tempered and can get angry easily.

Demona is Dorothy's soul spirit. She's cold, selfish and rather evil. Throught this cold layer of darkness however, she has her moments where she can be a sweet lady...rare moments.
